DAILY REFLECTION: SECOND PHASE ONLINE TEACHING PRACTICE DAY 1

 Day 1

The second phase of teaching practice was started on 3 rd February. The second phase of teaching practice have thirty class in total, fifteen for school students through online mode due to current situation of covid- 19 and other fifteen for peer group through traditional way.


The first phase had given me a great confidence and foundation for this one. I classes alloted for me was 9G and 9N standard of L.V.H.S school located at Pothencode. Present day class was on 9G. The class time was from 7 to 7.30 AM.  I used google meet as an online platform for teaching practice. I took the topic History of periodic table from the chapter periodic table. I begin the class by sharing my screen and presented slides and pictures related to the topic. They become more interested after watching the presentation. I introduced the scientists Newland , Dobereiner, Lavoisier and thier classification of elements. The students responded well. I also asked some review questions to ensure their understanding. I concluded the class by giving an activity that is to note down the contributions of the above mentioned scientists and ask them to send personally using Whatsapp.


The overall experience of today's class was very good. I was able to follow all steps and with the student's active response I hope that the class was effective for them. I should control the pace of my class, as I explain things in a fast pace . I am looking for good experiences in next classes and chance to get polish myself.
