OVERALL REFLECTION- SECOND PHASE OF ONLINE TEACHING PRACTICE

 Due to the current situation of covid-19 the online classes were conducted through Google meet. I selected L.V.H.S   pothencode for my online teaching practice .I got two classes for teaching practice 9N physics and 9G .Within 2 weeks the classes where over.Two classes were taken each day except for the first day. The duration of the class was 30 minutes and I prepare a Power Point presentation to make the class more effective and in every day follow up activity was given. Achievement test was Conducted for 9G class students on the chapter periodic table, the duration of the test was 40 minutes  and the mark for the test was 25 marks For peer  teaching class we have to take 15 classes.Duration of the class was 30 minutes .After every peer teaching classes my  peer trainees point out where should I  improve .Peer teaching is one of the best ways to master a particular subject. WEEKLY REFLECTION- Second Week (2nd phase of online teaching practice)

  During the second week of my second phase teaching practice session I had to take 10 online teaching sessions. On Monday(08/02/2021) I took class for 9N students on topic inertia of rest and inertia of motion from the chapter motion and laws of motion from  And the second class was taken for 9G standard students. The topic taken for 9G was representative elements. On Tuesday(09/02/2021) : I took class for 9N students.. continuation of motion and laws of motion chapter was taken .The topic taken was mass and inertia , momentum  I took class from the chapter of periodic table,continuation of this chapter was taught.The topic taken for 9G students from  are periodic trends in the periodic table. ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION-15

   Today was my last day of my online teaching practice session. I took topic electronegativityfrom the chapter periodic table. I started the class by taking attendance and engaged in casual talk . Students were given opportunity to answer a large set of questions which I believe might increase their competency in the subject matter. Some students had network issues. Apart from these issues ,the class went well. I discussed the topic eletronegativity through presentation. Today  marked the last online class of fourth semester teaching practice.  I never thought it would be possible even to take class for school students amidst of this pandemic situation. I am happy that I was able to complete the teaching practice session in a good manner.  I hope I can consider all the suggestions and remarks made by the teachers and use them to improve my performance in coming classes.

ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION-14

   The fourteenth day of my teaching practice session began at 8am in 9N class. I shared Google meet link on whatsapp group and asked them to join the platform. I began the class by taking the attendance and engaged in an informal talk with students. Today I took the topic newtons third law of motion . I could effectively integrate images and videos inorder to covey the material. The students responded activeIy.I linked students answered effectively with the lesson.  I introduced the definition of newtons third law of motion I made the students read slides . Students responded well. I gave an activity for students as a homework. I concluded the lesson by summarizing the main point's. 

ONLLNE TEACHING REFLECTION -13

 Today I started thirteenth online teaching class  after taking the attendance and began the class. I checked the prior knowledge of students. They responded well. I took the topic metallic and non metllic characters. Pictures were displyed explainung the metallic and non metaic character in groups and periods. I followed all steps in the lesson plan. I megaphoned their doubts. I shared a slide on screen shows some questions, they answered all questions and it given me an assurance that they are understanding what I am saying. I was able to interact well with the students and to create a good rapport with students. 

ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION-12

 Today was my twelth day of online teaching practice.I continued my online teaching practice. As usual I started the class by taking attendance. For the entry activity, I asked few questions related to lesson. Students responded well. I took the topic impulse for 9 N class.I shared picture, videos and scaffolding questions for students. I concluded the lesson by summarizing the main points . 

ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION-11

 Today I began the class in 9G by taking the attendance. I appreciated the students who send me the answers of the activity and some of them are not doing the discourse properly. So I motivated them to do the homework by reinforcing them. Then I asked some questions related to previous class.  I took the topic ionisation energy. The definitions are presented as separare slides. The factors affecting ionisation energy are explained one by one. I concluded the class by summarizing the main ideas.

ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION-10

 Today i had class in 9N and everyone was present. I started the class by interaction to make a rapport with them and took attendance.  I took the topic newtons second law of motion. The law and definition was made familiar through presentation. Problem questions were discussed and the formula was diaplayed as a separate slide. The students responded well.I was able to cover the topic within the alloted time period. I was very much satisfied 

ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION-9

 Today was my ninth day of online teaching practice session. The class began by taking attendance of students. I was tensed little bit, thinking whether there will be any network issues. But fortunately everything went well till the end. I tried to create a good rapport with the students. I gave a recap of previous class portion  and began the new topic periodic trends in an atom. . They responded to my questions very well. I also gave time for students to share their ideas . I gave an activity as a homework. I summarised the main points and concluded. 

ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION-8

  On the eight day, I started my class at 8.15 am due to network issues. Some students are unable to connect through google meet. Later I rejoined the online platform by sharing new link and students joined. I took the topic inertia and mass , momentum. The concept momentum was made clear through including activities I ask  them to share their doubts by unmuting the audios or through chatbox. I concluded the class by summarizing main ideas. It was a stressful class, because of network problem. I was forced to leave the online class and join again. But I am happy that even in the admist of all, I managed to convey the content effectively.

ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION-7

 On the seventh day of my online teaching practice session. I started my class at 7am in 9 G. Students joined Google meet by 6.55. I began the class by taking attendance and engaged in an informal talk with students. They interacted freely.I discussed the previously learnt topics and introduced the new topic transition and inner transition elements.   I shared slides, videos and audio and asked scaffolding questions inorder to ensure their understanding.  I was able to manage the time well and followed all steps.

ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION-6

Today was my sixth day of online teaching practice. As usual I took the attendance and continued the lesson. I checked their prior knowledge and started the topic inertia of rest and inertia of motion . The images of various situations from daily life were portrayed on it.  I followed all the steps in lesson plan. I gave an opportunity for students to share their ideas and I megaphoned their doubts. I concluded my class by giving a gist of the lesson and shared a slide showing the activity, as a homework . The class went well.

WEEKLY REFLECTION- Second Phase of Online Teaching Practice

  During the first week of my second phase teaching practice session I had to take 2 peer teaching and 5 online teaching sessions. On Wednesday(03/02/2021) I took class from the chapter periodic table, the topic taken was history of periodic table . On Thursday(04/02/2021) I took class from the chapter of periodic table,continuation of this chapter was taught.The topic taken was mendeleev's periodic table  for 9th G students from 7  to 7:30 am and for 9N  students the topic taken was balanced and unbalanced forces from 8 to 8:30 On Friday (05/02/2021)I took modern periodic table for 9th G students from 7 to 7.30am  and next class was for 9N  students ,the topic taught was newtons first law of motion and on this same day two peer class were taken.The physics topic was contact and non contact force and chemistry topic pure substances and mixtures.          This one week had given a good experience to me. ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION 5

 On the fifth day of my online teaching practice, I took the continuation of chapter periodic table in 9G. The topic dealt was modern periodic table. Today I started the class by revising the merits and demerits of mendeleevs periodic table. I asked few questions related to previously taught portion .Students gave correct answers. The image of modern periodic table was presented and the concept of groups as vertical columns and periods as horizontal rows were explained. Students observe it properly. I asked questions inorder to ensure their understanding. I made necessary corrections for their response. The class was concluded by summarising the main points. students did their discourse and they read it out. I showed my model for them. Later I gave them an activity as a homework.

ONLINE TEACHING REFLECTION - 4

          Today was the fourth day of online teaching practice. I had class in 9N. I began the class at 8 am.       I took the attendence and established a casual talk with the students. I took the continuation of the    chapter motion and laws of motion and discussed the topic Newtons first law of motion. The galileos experiment video and his inferences were presented    to the students which offered a plot towards newtons first law. The class was very much interactive. I concluded the class by summarizing the main points. After the presentation few questions were asked and students responded actively. Finally I gave  an activity and ask them to share their answers using Whatsapp. The class went well.

ONLINE TEACHING PRACTICE -3

  Today was my third day of online  teaching practice session. My class started at 7 am. I began the class by taking the attendance. Today I took the continuation of last class portion, periodic table . The students was very energetic. I asked few questions regarding the previous class and the  students responded very well.The mendeleevs periodic table was explained to them. The new concept of groups and periods Introduced by him were made clear by using power point presentation.  The merits and demerits of mendeleevs periodic table was displayed through slides and students track the content easily. Later I gave them the opportunity to share their doubts by unmuting the audio of Google meet. I cleared their doubts. Then I asked some scaffolding questions to understand their content knowledge. Students actively responded. Finally I gave  an activity and ask them to share their answers using Whatsapp. 

ONLINE TEACHING PRACTICE - 2

   Today was my second day of online teaching practice session. The time alloted for me in 9N was 8 to 8:30. My class started at 8am. I began the class by taking the attendance. Today I took physics class for 9N students.I took the topic balanced and unbalanced force from the chapter motion and laws of motion..I begin the class by discussing some of the daily life situations related to the topic. I prepared presentation including content , pictures and video and shared screen through google meet. The students was very energetic. I asked few questions and the students responded very well. Later I gave them the opportunity to share their doubts by unmuting the audio of Google meet. I cleared their doubts. Then I asked some scaffolding questions to understand their content knowledge. Students actively responded. Finally I gave  an activity and ask them to share their answers using Whatsapp. 

DAILY REFLECTION: SECOND PHASE ONLINE TEACHING PRACTICE DAY 1

 Day 1 The second phase of teaching practice was started on 3 rd February. The second phase of teaching practice have thirty class in total, fifteen for school students through online mode due to current situation of covid- 19 and other fifteen for peer group through traditional way. The first phase had given me a great confidence and foundation for this one. I classes alloted for me was 9G and 9N standard of L.V.H.S school located at Pothencode. Present day class was on 9G. The class time was from 7 to 7.30 AM.  I used google meet as an online platform for teaching practice. I took the topic History of periodic table from the chapter periodic table. I begin the class by sharing my screen and presented slides and pictures related to the topic. They become more interested after watching the presentation.
